Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of MealMimic — the mobile app, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”) provided by MealMimic, Inc. (“MealMimic”, “we”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who can use MealMimic

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must have a parent or legal guardian’s permission. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account.

2. The recipes we generate

MealMimic uses computer vision and machine learning to reconstruct recipes from photos. The recipes are best-effort reconstructions, not professional cooking instructions. We make no guarantee that any recipe is accurate, safe, or complete.

You are responsible for safe cooking. Always verify ingredients against your own allergies and dietary restrictions, check cooking temperatures with a thermometer, and use your own judgment. MealMimic is not liable for adverse reactions, illness, or injury resulting from following a generated recipe.

3. Your content

When you scan a dish or save a recipe, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host and process that content solely to provide the Service. You retain ownership. If you opt in to share a recipe in Discover, you grant MealMimic and other users a license to view and re-save that recipe within the Service.

You agree not to upload content that is illegal, infringes someone else’s rights, or violates anyone’s privacy.

4. Subscriptions and billing

MealMimic offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. Paid subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the next renewal, through your App Store or Google Play account. Refunds are handled by the platform that processed your purchase, in accordance with their refund policies.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the underlying models;
• Use the Service to generate content that is unsafe, harmful, or illegal;
• Resell or commercially redistribute generated recipes without our written permission;
• Interfere with the Service’s operation or security.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and brand, is owned by MealMimic and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

7. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We can suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that puts other users at risk. We will give you notice where reasonably possible.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any recipe will be accurate or safe.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MealMimic and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

10. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
